About us

Founded in 1997 by Johny Chalil (Appachan), Mariya Bhavanam began as an orphanage for mothers and children. Over time, it grew into a home for the elderly and individuals with psychiatric conditions. After his passing, Nirmala Santhosh continued his mission, ensuring a safe, caring, and supportive environment for those in need.

Our Story
Our Mission

We are dedicated to providing shelter, medical care, and rehabilitation for the elderly and mentally challenged. Our goal is to restore dignity, hope, and independence, ensuring every resident feels valued and supported.

About the Founder

To the residents of Mariya Bhavanam, Johny Chalil was more than a founder he was their Appachan. In 1997, he built not just a shelter but a home for the abandoned, believing no one should suffer alone. With love and compassion, he became a father to the forgotten, ensuring they felt like family. His dream was to give them dignity, care, and a sense of belonging. Though he is no longer here, his legacy of kindness lives on, guiding Mariya Bhavanam’s mission every day.
